INTERNAL COMPLAINT COMMITTEE (ICC)
Introduction
The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) at MET Institute of Management is constituted in accordance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, and the guidelines prescribed by UGC, AICTE, and SPPU. The Committee is responsible for creating a safe, respectful, and gender-sensitive environment for women employees and students. It ensures the prevention, prohibition, and redressal of sexual harassment on campus by promoting awareness, addressing complaints through a fair and confidential mechanism, and recommending corrective measures in line with statutory requirements.
Objectives of Internal Compliant Committee:
- To prevent sexual harassment by fostering a safe, gender-sensitive, and respectful academic and workplace environment through awareness, sensitization, and capacity-building programs.
- To ensure compliance with the provisions of the POSH Act, 2013, and guidelines issued by UGC, AICTE, and SPPU for creating a harassment-free campus.
- To provide a fair, confidential, and time-bound redressal mechanism for receiving and addressing complaints related to sexual harassment of women students and employees.
- To offer necessary support and assistance to the aggrieved woman, including guidance on filing complaints, access to counseling, and protection during the inquiry process.
- To conduct inquiries into complaints of sexual harassment objectively and in accordance with statutory procedures, ensuring principles of natural justice.
- To recommend appropriate disciplinary action to the management based on inquiry findings to prevent recurrence and ensure accountability.
- To promote gender equity and respectful conduct through ongoing sensitization initiatives, awareness campaigns, and inclusion-oriented institutional policies.
