Two days state level conference on the
topic “HR Perspective for Pharmaceutical Industry”

MET’s Institute of Pharmacy, Bhujbal Knowledge City organized
two days state level conference on the topic “HR Perspective for
Pharmaceutical Industry” On, 29th and 30th October 2018 which
was sponsored by Savitribai Phule Pune University. This
conference was organized with an objective for development of
industry-institution relations which provide two-way
communication between Pharmacy Institutes and industrial
community for procurement of common platform to the HR thought
Leaders, Business Leaders, and Students, faculties, Institutes
and researchers for interaction. Dr. M.D. Karvekar, PCI
Executive Member, Pharmacy Council of India was present as a
chief guest of the inaugural function of the conference. Dr.
Karvekar narrated the current position of the Pharma industries
with respect to the export and manufacturing of medicines. He
guided the students for the career. Mr. Sanjeev Pendharkar,
Chairman, Vicco Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. as the guest of honour,
motivated and guided the students. He appealed the students to
become an entrepreneur in the field which they like. Dr.
Jitendra Wagh, Trustee, MET’s Institute of Pharmacy, Bhujbal
Knowledge City welcomed and felicitated the guests and also
guided students for the development of leadership ability.
Mr. Yogesh Sonar, HR Executive, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.,
Nashik enlightened the students on job interview tips,
professional skills like communication, team work, problem
solving, planning and organizing, self management and learning.
Mr. Vaibhav Nagarkar, Capgemini India Pvt.Ltd., Mumbai guided
students on presentation skill and interview as per industrial
requirement.
Mr. Devdatta Gokhale, Director, Gokhale’s Advanced Training
Institute (GATI) discussed employability skills expected in the
corporate culture for the students.
Mr. Susheel Sonar, HR Manager, Rubicon Pvt. Ltd, Mumbai gave
valuable advice to students for their first job and etiquettes,
mannerism, behavior required for the same.
Dr. Srikanth PB, Associate Director, Cognizant Technological
Solutions, Mumbai enlightened Careers in Life Sciences: a
competency based perspective from Cognizant Technological
Solutions. Mr. Satish Sugunan, HR Manager, Cognizant
Technological Solutions, Mumbai interacted with students on
hiring expectations and service offerings. On this occasion,
Cognizant team members conducted ‘Walk in interview’ and 10
students were shortlisted for the further process.
Delegates appreciated the innovative theme of conference which
was very useful for their future in career development. They
suggested to organize such conferences in coming years along
with campus drive.
120 delegates participated from different universities viz
Savitribai Phule Pune University, Bahinabai Chaudhari North
Maharashtra University, Mumbai University.
Trustee Dr. Jitendra Wagh, Dr. Shefali Bhujbal, and Dr.
Sanjay Kshirsagar, Principal of MET’s Institute of Pharmacy were
conveners of the conference. The conference was coordinated by
Dr. Nilima Thombre and Dr. Sunita Surse with the help of all the
staff members of Institute of Pharmacy.
