Electric Vehicle

Dear all,

We welcome you in the esteemed and renowned institute of MET- Bhujbal Knowledge City, Institute of Engineering - Department of Electrical Engineering. We appeal you to promote this course of Electrical Engineering which is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune.

About Electrical Engineering

Electrical Engineering is one of the vital branches of Engineering & can be considered as the mother branch. Most of the engineering branches have emerged as specialization from Electrical Engineering. This engineering branch's central part is related to the basic principles and detailed analysis of various apparatuses and systems for electricity generation, transmission, distribution, and utilization. The stream also covers the study of many electric and electronic devices and circuits involved in measuring, instrumentation, protection, and control of electrical equipment and their conversion systems.

Electrical Engineering stream graduates are mainly employed in various State / National Electricity Boards or Utility companies, Railways / Traction, and large / small scale production industries. They are responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of power handling apparatus and systems. Sectors manufacturing large electrical machines and equipment employ electrical engineers for design, production, quality assurance, and testing. They can easily find a place in any area of Information & Futuristic Technology.

A career in electrical engineering encompasses the following fields:-

  • Electric Power/ Control System
  • Generation, Transmission and Distribution Substation
  • Wiring and lighting of houses
  • As a Consultant / Electrical Contractor / Entrepreneur
  • Designing household appliances
  • Electrically-controlled industrial machinery
  • Design Software & Robotics
  • Electrical Vehicle & its Design
  • Industrial Process Control
  • SCADA & Automation Systems
  • Solar & Wind System Installation

Future for Electrical Engineering Graduates in India

Electric Vehicles will soon start ruling Indian roads, and this career will definitely provide decent career prospects. The battery prices have down by 73% since 2010 and electric cars are expected to be budget-friendly as compared to fuel-powered cars.

The International Energy Agency estimated that by 2025, 70 million electric vehicles will be on the road. Countries around the world are recognizing the importance and potential of electric vehicles. The industry is expected to generate at least 1 crore of jobs by 2030. Also on 15th August, Prime Minister announced the National Hydrogen Mission in view of climate change. We have to make India as an Energy Hub in future that will generate a lot of scope for Electrical Engineer in Energy Sector.
