With unprecedented and accelerating demand of miniature electronic communication and control devices, it has been challenge from quite long time to study and research the electronic materials, devices and circuits, microprocessor, microcontrollers and their interfacing devices, related signal processing and efficient software systems to drive them. On the other hand with the explosive growth of the users of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in last two decades, there is a tremendous increase in deployment of communication infrastructures, large carrier class wire-line and wireless networks for convergence of voice, data and video. Consumer market for broadband applications such as voice, data, multimedia, video, gaming, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and entertainment, signal transport has gained high velocity. Service providers and operators are actively moving towards IP-based Next-Generation Networks (NGNs), where transport over existing TDM infrastructure is being replaced with transport over IP infrastructure with very high Quality of Service (QoS). IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) is emerging as the industry standard of choice for the NGNs. The great success of the Internet and wireless communications has opened a new vista for future all-IP applications. Such convergence of communication networks and miniaturisation of devices and systems are posing interesting technological and business challenges..
The Department provides thorough knowledge to all the students and preparing the students to achieve core competence and technical in the field of Electronics. The Department believes in promoting interaction of students and faculty with the industry. The Department have expertise available in the Area of Mobile Communication, VLSI Design, Satellite Communication, Control System Engg., Microwave Communication etc..

• The Department is having six labs in the Field at Analog Communication, Digital Microwave Communication, Fiber Optic Communication, Basic Electronics, Integrated Circuits, Microprocessor and Microcontroller, Computer Aided Lab  
• The Department is having high end equipments like DSO, Spectrum Analyzer from Falcon Company, Agilent technologies, which are planned to use for Research and development purpose 
• The Department is having fully equipped Radio frequencies circuits and Antenna Lab  
• The Department is having Matlab 7.3 Software for performing Simulation Practical in the field of DSP, Digital Communication, Image Processing etc. 
• The Department is having Portieres software for performing Simulation Practical in the field of Microcontroller and embedded System. 
• The Department is having Microwind Software to perform Simulation Practical in the field at Micro – Electronics  
• All the staff members and students of Dept. are members of IETE  
• The Department conduct technical festival like Oscillation, Televentix in which students gets the opportunity at presenting Technical paper, project exhibition cum completion, Technical quiz etc. 
• Every year Department organize Industrial Visit to Reputed Organization like Door-Darshan Kendra, Akashvani Kendra, VSNL etc. 
• Apart from central Library the Dept is having its own library for immediate reference for students  
• For upgradating knowledge of staff and student department conduct regular short term training programme
