The President of India grants audience to the MET Schools of Management and Engineering students

'Chalo Delhi' – A Knowledge Expedition to Delhi involving students and faculty
of MET Schools of Management and Engineering, Nashik and Mumbai campus

Mumbai Educational Trust (MET), one of India’s premiere educational conglomerate recently organised a knowledge expedition to Delhi, under the aegis of ‘Chalo Delhi’. As part of the expedition Management and Engineering students from Mumbai and Nasik campus along with faculty had a once in a life-time opportunity to interact with The President of India, Former President of India and Members of Parliament. The students also enjoyed a 5 day stay in the capital, full of knowledge sharing, encounters with eminent leaders and stimulating discussions.
 
Undeniably, the highlight of the ‘Chalo Delhi’ expedition was the visit to the Rashtrapati Bhavan to meet Shri Pranab Mukherjee. The President of India spoke to the students about finance and economy in India and also emphasised that empowerment of the people is crucial for the development and progress of the country. The objective of this meet was to sensitise students on parliamentary procedures and help them understand the functioning of a democratic country.
 
The students also got a chance to have an interaction with Former President of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam at his residence. The discussions ranged on topics like innovation, creativity, technology, entrepreneurship and management. Subsequently, METizens also met esteemed Members of Parliament at the Constitution Club of India who enlightened the students on management aspects.
 
During the Chalo Delhi expedition, the students submitted an appeal to key decision makers which states that the youth should be used to facilitate mobile literacy in the country.
 
As part of the Bharat Darshan, an industrial visit was conducted to Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) at Haridwar to gain insights on the working of industries and understand the various facets of business management.
 
‘Chalo Delhi’ was concluded with a visit to the ultimate entertainment and leisure destination, Kingdom of Dreams which exposed students to a blend of India’s art, culture, heritage, craft, cuisine and performing art.
